Brief description

The material 1.4432 is an austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel. Due to its high corrosion resistance and very good weldability, it is often used in chemical equipment and systems.

In natural environmental media (water, rural and urban environments), in media with moderate chlorine and salt concentrations and in the food industry, the material 1.4432 is characterised by good corrosion resistance. (PREN = 24.7 - 30.2)

Forgeability

During the forging process, the forging is first heated to approx. 1150°C. Forging takes place in a temperature range of 1150°C - 950°C. This is followed by air or water cooling.

Weldability

The material 1.4432 can be welded well with and without filler metal. Heat treatment after welding is not necessary. The resistance to intergranular corrosion is not affected by welding.
